Primed for a shaving.

We have an extensive stock of window sashes in our store. Our stock includes traditional leadlights, ordinary single-light clear float glass, obscure (bathroom appropriate) glass, and stained glass in a variety of colors and textures. Our collection of sashes also features a variety of wood types. The sizing of window sashes is ranged and very easy to change, this allows ease in finding the desired size: the variability is what ensures customer satisfaction.

Three Lite Window Frame Build

The current project was a straight forward process for our workshop as frame building is a common project that we are familiar with. The window was selected from our own stock according to customer specifications, considering both size and style. The hinge rebates showed some damage and needed to be trimmed then remade. A couple of stainless steel hinges were selected from our workshop stock and fitted. The frame was assembled using H3 treated pine and primed. An important consideration when building a frame is the added depth that the frame contributes, this is necessary when thinking of the space it is intended to fit. The profile of the pine we use is 25 mm, which means an additional 50 mm must be added to both height and width measurements (the frame encasing the window sash: 2 x 25 mm, top and bottom and side to side–this can be viewed below).

There is little that we cannot modify. We can extend height, width and we can trim the exact same. We offer a variety of services intent on meeting any specific requirements or visions. A door, as selected from our stock, may seem unsatisfactory when considering its dimensions or how it is hung. It is also possible that a single detail may prove unsatisfactory–perhaps a panel present instead of light letting glass. This can all be accommodated for; hinges can be swapped, any rebated sites can be packed and unwanted panels can be removed and replaced with glass, for which we offer a catalogue of different templates.

We are also in the market of purchasing doors and other recyclables we consider appropriate for restoration. We invite anyone in the possession of such sought after materials and furnishings to contact us. We source from auctions; salvage from demolitions; purchase from home renovation sites, spring-cleaners and remodellers.
